A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:

Orientation at UNBC prominently incorporates sustainability in the following ways:

-The Green University Centre is actively engaged with orientation events including information tables and displays during orientation week;
-E-newsletters are sent in place of paper mail-outs and USB sticks are distributed with all orientation information in order to reduce paper consumption;
-Sustainability information is featured in e-newsletters, including opportunities for student volunteerism, events, and other sustainability programs at UNBC;
-All catered orientation events offer sustainable alternatives (i.e. compostable dishes are used, bottled water free events, recycle/compost all waste, Green Ambassadors promoting sustainability and recycling, etc.);
-The Green University Centre hosts a session during Residence Student Orientation; and
-The undergraduate student society organizes a Bottled Water Free pledge and distributes reuseable water bottles to all students.
