UNBC's central sustainability website was developed and is maintained by the Communications Department. The site is linked from the University homepage and it provides information about UNBC's sustainability efforts related to teaching, research, operations, and student and community engagement. The site also provides information related to the activities of the Green University Planning Committee (including minutes), the Green Fund Program and a comprehensive section on energy projects.
This website is in the process of redevelopment and will be released in it's new form in December 2011.

A brief description of the sustainability newsletter:
The Green University Newsletter was developed in 2010. Several issues of this electronic newsletter were distributed to students, staff and faculty. The purpose of this publication was to highlight ongoing sustianability projects and innovative examples of leadership in sustainability across campus. Some newsletter features included the efforts of the Childcare Centre and an innovative sustainable business developed by UNBC alumni. The newsletter format is currently being revised and will be released in the Fall 2011.

The campus cafeteria displays signage related to OceanWise and organic options, local food promotion and free range poultry and eggs.

The UNBC Green Tour Map was originally developed for use in student and employee orientation. It has since been used to guide tours for visitors to campus, school groups and conference attendees. The walking tour includes stops to the campus composting site, bioenergy facility and on campus food and botanical gardens.

Topics of environmental and social sustainability are regularly featured in the weekly on campus newspaper "Over the Edge". Previous stories have covered the UNBC Green Fund, sustainability contests and bottled water.

The Green Unviersity Centre uses Facebook and twitter as outreach tools. Daily updates are provided about sustainability initiatives and events for the campus community.

A facebook page and video were developed to highlight UNBC's efforts related to renewable energy. This outreach material was mainly focused on new or incoming students to UNBC, as a means of enhancing student learning about sustainability outside the classroom.
