A brief description of the institution’s participation in an external network of anchor institutions:
As of 2018 the University of Louisville joined in the higher education mission initiative stared by the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities along with the Democracy Collaborative named the Anchor Learning Network(ALN). Along with 30 other universities and colleges the University of Louisville pledged over the next three years to make significant progress to institutionalize the anchor mission on their campus and to be leaders in transforming the national perception of higher education.
