Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes

A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:

Created in 2019, the Cardinal Cupboard is a place in the Student Activities Center where students, staff, and faculty are able to access free food whenever they need, no questions asked. Donations are accepted form members of the University community, however, most of the food in the cupboard is collected from local partnerships. Located in the Student Activities Center and open 9:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday or by appointment the Cardinal Cupboard is easily accessible and sustainable for student use.

Due to increase in demand, the Cardinal Cupboard underwent a major renovation in the 2020 summer, more the doubling the size of the space. Along with this increase in size came a call for a food recovery network that was established to mitigate food waste on campus and increase resources in the Cardinal Cupboard. More local partnerships were established with Dare to Care Food Bank, The Lord's Kitchen, and Kroger to keep up with the demand the Cardinal Cupboard was seeing.

In the 2021 academic year, the Cardinal Cupboard became sponsored by the Commonwealth Credit Union. Changing the name to Commonwealth Credit Union Cardinal Cupboard.
