The Princeton Open Access Repository provides a platform for collecting scholarly articles authored by Princeton University faculty members. Articles in the repository are publicly accessible in accordance with Princeton’s Open Access Policy. The goal of the repository is to make Princeton scholarly articles available to the widest possible audience and to preserve them for long-term use. The repository is developed, managed and maintained jointly by the Princeton University Library and the Office of Information Technology.

Princeton University has had the Open Access Policy since 2011, which requires its faculty members to grant the University rights to archive and share their scholarly works in our open access repository. The policy only covers faculty members.

Princeton University Library provides an Open Access Fund program to support Princeton Authors with APCs. The Princeton OA fund aims to help Princeton authors, especially underrepresented groups, underwrite reasonable publication charges when publishing in fee-based Open Access (OA) publications when no other funding sources are available. Funding article charges removes barriers to open access publishing practices and promotes the value of OA to scholarship, research, and creative output. The OA Fund aligns the investment in OA with the core mission and values of the Library and University, as well as the Library’s strategic priorities.
