Through the Management Development Centre, UOIT staff and faculty help managers meet the competitive challenges of today's dynamic business environment by combining the latest business concepts with practical managerial skills. The MDC provides the individual with the knowledge and skills to drive business to the next level.

For this credit, we have used the example of the LEAN Management Program. The program features UOIT staff instructor-led Lean training and certification. Lean processes are key to institutional sustainability.
This program provides the principles of Lean thinking and outlines the essential Lean tools and practices that will increase service efficiency and quality, improve satisfaction and reduce waste. It aims to create an understanding of the benefits that can be achieved by following Lean best practice. This program is typically delivered to staff who are actively involved in cross functional teams deployed to implement Lean.
