NAIT’s Bachelor of Technology in Technology Management degree program graduates are prepared with a global perspective on the social, ethical, financial and environmental issues key to industry success. Armed with research and communications skills, NAIT baccalaureates serve as influential, thoughtful managers and supervisors.

Educational Domains refer to generic skill sets or abilities that round out the educational experience of the student. The four domains for this degree program are as follows:

1. Research and Innovation
Research is systematic, structured investigation. The outcomes of this investigation are to find information or data, to collate and synthesize existing information or data, or to gather and analyze information or data to develop new meaning or applications from it. Such investigations require knowledge of the methods and procedures appropriate to each project, including awareness of ethical norms and codes of conduct. Research is based on information literacy.

2. Technology Foundations and Applications
Technology includes objects (machines, tools, instruments, etc.), knowledge (how to do things), processes, and the interaction of these things with society and the environment. This consists of building on the technology foundation of math, science, the applied arts, and application within the current state of knowledge for investigating opportunities, problem solving and process/product improvement.

3. Leadership and Management
Being an effective leader and manager builds upon supervisory, teamwork, and planning skills. Leadership provides vision and communicates confidence and encouragement to the team through behavior and attitudes. Management creates systems and tools that empower team members to maximize their potential through knowledge and skills.

4. Ethically Aware and Socially Conscientious -
Being ethically aware and socially conscientious involves values, attitudes and behaviors. The values are those of individuals accountable to the world in which they live, and in which our following generations will live. This includes recognition of the fundamental and equal value of all human life and of the global environment. Attitudes are those of individuals prepared to accept the responsibility of improving global living conditions, and of protecting and sustaining the environment on an ongoing, permanent basis. Behaviors are the conscientious and practical efforts to implement these attitudes and to balance and integrate respect for cultures, environmental protection, and the ethical advances of global business interest.
