Does the institution offer at least one immersive, sustainability-focused educational study program that is one week or more in length?:
Yes

A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:

All students in the SUST 4300 Sustainability Senior Practicum are required to take part in a semester-long service-learning project geared towards sustainability with a community partner. An example of a project involving the development of a solar-powered irrigation system is attached.

All students in the B.S. Environmental Biology program are required to complete a one-semester internship or research experience with an approved business, company, industry, government agency, non-governmental organization, not-for-profit organization, etc. before they may graduate.

In 2022, the Global Studies and Public Administration Departments led a month-long trip to South Korea for 18 students. The students had a mini internship with a social welfare non-profit and did a community mapping project to determine accessibility. It was free for students - truly providing an equitable and inclusive experiential learning opportunity (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_54SOtrscs)

In the spring break of 2022, students from Kean participated in a Civil Rights Journey throughout the Southeast (https://galleries.kean.edu/exhibitions/civil-rights-journey-digital-exploration)

In the spring break of 2023, there were two sustainability-related trips for students. One to the US/Mexico Border to look at human rights issues and immigration and the other to Costa Rica to study community-based agriculture.
