* There are three courses taught across the whole student body that have sustainability-related (Student learning outcomes). The courses are Eng 1030 : College Composition, Comm 1402 Speech Communication, and Science Lab. Each one of these courses has a Course Level student learning outcome connected directly or indirectly with sustainability.

Eng 1030: one of the Course level student learning outcomes is "Using writing, reading and critical thinking as a means of understanding diverse cultures and multiple perspectives".

Comm 1402: Practicing Communication as a value for civil society through understanding how the power of communication helps change and shape society.

Science Lab:ENVIRONMENT:
Identify and explain environmental systems and processes using natural examples. Demonstrate methods used in environmental science fieldwork and data analysis. Describe the global, regional, and local environmental processes and systems.

Apply principles of environmental science to resolve societal scenarios (hazards and non-hazards)

Write about and discuss issues concerning the environment as an integrated system using scientific principles and concepts.

Demonstrate knowledge of the interrelationship of the various part of the Earth’s environmental systems: the geosphere, the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the biosphere, and the cryosphere.

We looked at 2023 data for undergraduate degrees conferred alone.
Data were acquired through the Institutional Research office on a total number of graduates that year in each of the programs mentioned below that require a sustainability-focused course.

PROGRAM LEVEL ACROSS COURSES:

College of Business and Public Management (CBPM):

Six programs out of 8 programs/Majors require a sustainability-focused course.
The six programs are (Management-Marketing-Finance-Accounting-Global Business-Economics). The course is MGS 3520:Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. Additionally, Global Business requires Sustainable Global Business and Technology; Economics students must take Challenges of Global Poverty.

Michael Graves College, Architecture and Design:

One program out of 5 programs/Majors requires a sustainability-focused course(s).
The program is (BA Architecture Studies) ARCH 2603: Theory - Ecology, the Environment, and the Ethics of Architecture.

College of Liberal Arts:

There are 16 programs/majors; two programs or majors have a required sustainability-focused course. The two programs/majors are Sociology (requires Intro to Social Justice, which includes Environmental Justice) and Global Studies (requires Intro to Global Studies which includes environmental sustainability).

There are 12 programs/majors; six programs or majors have a minimum of one sustainability-focused course(s). The six programs/majors are: Science and Technology (Requires Living Systems), Environmental Science (Requires many), Earth Science (Requires Sustainability), Biology BA (Requires Sustainability), and Biology BS (Requires General Biology 2: Evolution, Biodiversity and Ecology). The Sustainability Science BS was incorporated into the Environmental Science major that year but still graduated some students.

The College of Health Professions
and Human Services (CoHPHS):

There is only one program or major that has a required sustainability-focused course. The Public Health BS requires courses on Public and Community Health and Environmental Health as well as Health Disparities in the US.
