A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :

Courses designated as sustainability courses (the SUS course attribute), for both "all instructors" of a course or sections taught by a specific faculty, were provided for AY 2022 by Institutional Research the the Sustainability Practices and Research Center.

Our existing inventory of additional courses that include or focus on sustainability (as identified in the past through surveys, catalog review, environmentally focused majors, and consultation with individual faculty), but do not yet have the attribute, was updated through responses to a survey sent to all faculty (October 2021) regarding their sustainability teaching and research. Faculty were asked to indicate if they taught a sustainability-inclusive or sustainability-focused course based on the definitions provided in STARS AC-1. If they did teach one or more such courses they provided the course title, number and a brief course description or rationale on the sustainability connection.

Occurrences of the courses on this updated list for 2021-22 were identified by the Office of Institutional Research. These sections were added to the SUS sections list and are provided in the uploaded inventory. The course descriptions for the courses are on the second tab.

Timeframe of course count is AY 2022 (Summer 2021 - Spring 2022)

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course
