1) The Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) hosts Alternative Breaks throughout the academic year that help to students to engage in direct service trips throughout the world. Two of the Spring 2022 Alternative Breaks were centered around sustainability. The Environmental Conservation trip to O-ahu, Hawaii lasted for nine days. 2) Weber State University student interns participate with professors and community partners to engage in sustainability-related, community-based projects. For example, from 2020-2021, four student intern research assistants worked with the Sociology 3300 (Environment & Society) class and two community partners (WSU's Energy & Sustainability Office and Facilities Management) to complete a community-based research project concerning attitudes about water, water usage, and conservation at Weber State University titled "Uncovering Attitudes Towards Water at Weber State University." The research findings helped to inform the university's Water Action Plan.
