A brief description of the institution’s participation in an external network of anchor institutions:

Weber State University is a current member of The Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU) - https://www.cumuonline.org/membership/current-members/ The local network of anchor institutions that WSU participates in is The Ogden Civic Action Network (OCAN). OCAN is a consortium of seven anchor institutions which, in addition to WSU, includes Intermountain Healthcare, Ogden City, Ogden Regional Medical Center, Ogden School District, Ogden-Weber Technical College, and the Weber-Morgan Health Department.

OCAN's vision is to improve the health, strength, and engagement within our community: economically, socially, environmentally, educationally and civically. OCAN's mission is to create a comprehensive neighborhood revitalization using a place-based strategy centralized in the East Central Neighborhood in Ogden, Utah. The four pillars are health, education, housing and financial stability. For more information please visit https://www.weber.edu/ogdencan
