A brief description of notable policies or programs to make the institution accessible and affordable to low-income students:

The Minnesota Reciprocity program is a benefit for residents of Minnesota, attending a Wisconsin school, to pay tuition and fees comparable to in-state students.

Financial Aid- Financial aid is money provided to help meet the costs of attending college, and may consist of any combination of grants, loans, scholarships and work study. Aid is intended to help make up the difference between the students' educational costs and the amount their family is expected to contribute, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

UW-Eau Claire – Barron County offers a high-quality associate degree and thousands of dollars in savings over the course of the two years it takes students to earn their associate degree.

A brief description of notable policies or programs to support non-traditional students:

Childrens Nature Academy- Although open to all residents of Eau Claire, UWEC students with children are made a priority for childcare at the Childrens Nature Academy.

Veteran Program- The Veterans Center was established to provide a meeting place on campus for veteran students, faculty, and staff, to honor them for their service to the country and to be a place of welcome for veterans on campus. It is a place where veteran students, faculty, and staff can learn more about resources specifically for them, attend programs on veteran needs, and participate in support groups.
