A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:

The Campus Environmental Sustainability Programs Fund (CESF) provides general support for environmental sustainability-related programs offered through The Division of Facilities and Campus Operations. To help Stevens stay true to its sustainability efforts the CESF helps support more environmentally sustainable programs and projects throughout campus. Stevens is continually evaluating different ways to reduce energy consumption and its carbon footprint. The CESF supports the university’s sustainability efforts like on-site solar PV arrays, water conservation initiatives, renewable energy, clean-fueled vehicles and EV charging stations, recycling and composting infrastructure, campus bicycling amenities, and more.

A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:

The Senior Director of Finance and Administration for the Division of Facilities and Campus Operations is the fund manager. That person works with members of the Division of Development and Alumni Engagement to distribute the funds. The Division of Finance works with the other two divisions to verify that donations comply with the mission of the fund. For example, a donation (solicited by the Transportation and Sustainability Development Manager) was made to the fund for the purchase of bike locks for students. The Division of Development and Alumni Engagement worked with the Division of Facilities and Campus Operations to facilitate the donation. The Division of Finance was consulted to confirm that the donation was in accordance with the mission of the fund.
