Has the institution banned or eliminated the on-site sales and distribution of at least one type of single-use disposable plastic?:
Yes

A brief description of the single-use disposable plastics that have been banned or eliminated:

The State of New Jersey, as of May 4, 2022, banned retail stores, grocery stores, and food service business from providing or selling single-use plastic carryout bags and polystyrene foam food service products. As of November 4, 2021, plastic straws may be provided only upon the request of the customer. P.L. 2020, c. 117

“No retail establishment shall provide to any customer a single use plastic carry-out bag, as defined in §148-1, above. This prohibition applies to bags provided for the purpose of carrying goods away from the point of sale and does not apply to product bags or to produce bags used to carry produce within the retail establishment to the point of sale. The prohibition applies to single use plastic carry-out bags used for take-out deliveries from retail establishments within the establishment, regardless of where payment for the transaction physically occurs."

In addition to the state law, Hoboken previously enacted a ban on single-use carry out plastic bags.

In accordance with state and Hoboken law, Stevens Dining Services has eliminated plastic bags and replaced them with recycled paper bags.
