SAVE (Sustainability Activism, Volunteering and Engineering) works to promote awareness of and action on environmental issues. SAVE seeks to accomplish this by hosting fun campus-wide, sustainability-oriented events and by promoting and participating in green activities in the Hoboken community.

The University Climate Ambassadors are a student group that connects students across campuses with the common goal of making environmental progress at colleges. It is associated with the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce.

SEEPS (Stevens Environmental Engineering Professional Society) works to bring together students focused on Environmental Engineering and provide members resources, opportunities, and feedback.

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is a non-profit national humanitarian organization focusing on developing sustainable, renewable, and environmentally friendly projects around the world, while addressing “people’s basic human needs by providing necessities such as clean water, sanitation, and education.”

Stevens offers FIN 540 - Sustainable Finance, where students are taught about how to include environmental, social, and governance considerations into corporate decisions, and how certain investment decisions like green bonds, social bonds, and sustainability bonds will impact a corporation financially as well as socially. The course also includes having students take a sustainability management simulation, involving a virtual hotel management setting with the goal of reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions while also optimizing financial performance, business operations, and environmental impact.

The Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series is a weekly lecture hosting a variety of speakers who focus on a wide range of sustainability issues. The series is sponsored by the Hugo Neu Corporation, and co-sponsored by BEM Systems, Brown and Caldwell, Geosyntec Consultants, and H2M Architects and Engineers. It is organized by the Stevens Sustainability Management Master's Program.

Stevens offers Leave No Trace information sessions that provide innovative education, skills, research, and science to help people care for the outdoors. Additionally, Stevens leads hiking and other outdoor adventure trips in which Leave No Trace practices are taught and enforced. Trips are taking place in April as well as during the Summer break where students will travel to Utah and learn more about Leave No Trace. Each traveler will be provided a pamphlet, map, and an outdoor ethics tag about the mission of Leave No Trace and how they can follow the guidelines during their travels.

Stevens provides all students with access to LinkedIn Learning and Academic Impressions. Both of these programs have numerous modules about sustainability and the ways in which sustainability can be applied to various aspects of life. LinkedIn Learning modules include Sustainability Strategies, Learning Design for Sustainability, What is Climate Change, and Calculating Your Carbon Footprint, as well as many others. Academic Impressions modules include Addressing Food Insecurity in Higher Education: Creating an Integrated & Sustainable Food Pantry and A Road Map for Campus Sustainability.

Hugo Neu Sustainability Seminar presentations often include sustainable life skills.

A brief description of the sustainability-focused student employment opportunities offered by the institution:

During the 2021-2022 school year two students served as sustainability interns and worked solely on the STARS report.

One student was employed as an intern during Summer 2022. That student assisted with creating, improving, and implementing sustainability initiatives on campus.

Four more student interns were hired during the 2022-2023 school year. This position works with the school to analyze, develop, and initiate sustainability-related projects. The internship also has students work on the STARS report for AASHE to measure the institution’s sustainability performance and efforts.
