We have piloted LEED EBOM at Searle Hall and the Ford Engineering Center, both of which are LEED NC buildings as well. We are currently setting goals for expanding our LEED EBOM use to other existing buildings on campus.

All campus buildings are covered by our sustainable operations and maintenance program. The program ensures minimal environmental impact in the areas of energy and greenhouse gas emissions; green buildings, infrastructure, and grounds; and resource management and waste. The policy includes guidelines for green cleaning, temperature and lighting standards, landscaping recommendations, and infrastructure to support recycling and composting.


A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:

Facilities Management leadership routinely reviews Operations projects to ensure that sustainability and energy policies and standards are followed. Facilities Management’s Operations team reviews the performance of Aramark, the current custodial services vendor, on a quarterly basis in addition to unscheduled audits of performance.
