HACC offers faculty the opportunity to participate in the Changing Planet Study Group through Cooling the Liberal Arts Curriculum, A Campaign for Climate Change Education at 4- and 2-Year Liberal Arts Colleges in conjunction with Dickinson College, the facilitating institution that provides training workshops, resources and funds for curriculum development and professional development in Global Climate Change (GCC), as funded by a NASA Global Climate Change Education grant (link to website http://www.dickinson.edu/academics/distinctive-opportunities/sustainability-education/content/climate-education/).


A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

Each Changing Planet Study Group faculty participant receives a $1000 stipend to participate in a four-day training workshop held at Dickinson College. Eight faculty members have participated since 2010, resulting in a new course and eight new course modules on GCC, and a faculty development offering in GCC (FY12-13).
