2010-2015 Fleming Strategic Plan commits Fleming to be a leader in sustainability "By 2015, Fleming will have moved from commitment to results in ecological, economic, and social sustainability through our programs and practices". The College will make substantial progress in all areas specified in the ACCC Sustainability Protocol.
Strategic Goal #3 Leading in Sustainability - to develop a five year sustainability plan to reduce the college's carbon footprint.
The 2015-2018 strategic plan embeds sustainability in our corporate values and further commits Fleming to achieving sustainability by achieving a minimum of a Silver STARS rating. The reporting period straddles the two plans. The 2010 plan is attached and the 2015 plan is accessed through link below.

Frost Campus Master Plan sets plans and initiatives for sustainability - including an (additional) green roof and outdoor experiential classrooms (focused on the School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences and Biodiversity on campus). http://flemingcollege.ca/frostplan .
The Sutherland Campus interior space plan focusses on retrofits for energy conservation and efficiency.

Fleming's 2013-2018 Sustainability Plan has specific targets to increase sustainability across the curriculum (based on a baseline survey of 2012) by a factor of 50%. Fleming's new Academic Plan (2015-2018) commits to the inclusion of Fleming's learning outcome in 100% of the diploma programs.
Measurable Objectives and Timeframes included in the plans referenced above include: Incorporating the Sustainability Learning Outcome into required courses in 75% of Diploma programs by Fall 2016 ( achieved) and 100% by 2018 (Academic Plan, Business Plan), achieving a STARS Silver Rating by 2018 (Strategic Plan), increasing the number of courses with sustainability content by 50% by 2018 (Five Year Sustainability Plan), Also included are goals to integrate sustainabiltiy into the co-curricular record ( achieved) and into curriculum and program reviews (achieved).

The plan commits to increase the number of research activities in our applied research plan which focusses on alternative waste water treatment through the Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment. The Centre conducts world class research in using the natural biological processes of constructed wetlands to treat wastewater.

Goals from the Five Year Sustainabiltiy Plan include; increasing internal partnerships to advance sustainability to 3 / year in 2016, '17, '18 ( Five Year Sustainability Plan), 3 Awareness Surveys on Sustainability and 6 Outreach vehicles/events per year. ( all achieved thus far) plan has targets for engagement.

Action Plan goals have included expanding outreach to external audiences which has been achieved through Conference Presentations locally, regionally and internationally as well as by establishing a publicly available website and Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Lead for Office of Sustainability is a member of Sustainable Peterborough Coordinating Committee and Climate Change Task Force as well as the local member of parliament, Honourable Maryam Monsef's Council on Arts, Culture, Health and Environmental Sustainability.
The local City of Kawartha Lake and Frost Campus have a MOU agreeing to a minimum of two sustainability initiatives each year (minimum).

Fleming has established an engagement action plan which follows the results of our 2015 employee engagement survey and is published on our engagement website internal to the college. The survey is administered anonymously and asked questions relating to wellbeing and work environment.
Using the classification and methodology described in the full report, 87% of respondents in 2015 were classified as somewhat engaged (32%), engaged (38%) or extremely engaged (17%). Of the remaining 13%, 10% were classified as disengaged and 3% extremely disengaged. Those extremely engaged or engaged increased by 2%
from 2013 and increased by 4% with each of the 2011 and 2013 survey administrations respectively. Similar to previous years, administrators had the highest level of engagement whereas support staff had the lowest. However
engagement levels decreased in administrators from 2013 to 2015
The current engagement level - all employees groups is 87%. Targets in the action plan will be assessed in next employee engagement survey 2018. The target for the 2018 engagement survey is to maintain the overall engagement level and to improve leader engagement by 2%.
