The mission of the Safety Committee is to ensure the advancement of a healthy and safe work environment. It requires the commitment of both the individual employee and the University. All must recognize proper attitudes toward injury and illness prevention in a spirit of cooperation. Only through such efforts will an excellent safety and health record be established and preserved. The objective of our combined efforts is to reduce the number of disabling injuries and illnesses to a minimum with the ultimate goal being ZERO work-related accidents and injuries.
The Safety Committee is responsible for:
Promoting health and safety on the SNHU campus, and all SNHU satellite locations
Obtaining and analyzing available data on past injuries and illnesses,identifying trends,and suggesting appropriate corrective actions
Recommending initiatives to enhance the health and safety of the SNHU community
Assisting with the identification of necessary safety and health training for employees
Assisting with the identification and definition of temporary, alternate tasks
The Safety Committee's purpose is to establish cooperative dialogue and collaborative resolutions between the SNHU Leadership team and employee representatives to assist the University in promoting a safe and healthful work environment. The Safety Committee will assist Leadership in establishment of University wide health and safety policies.
