During the 2019-2020 academic year, SNHU worked with the National Institute for Transformation & Equity (NITE) to conduct a school-wide Culturally Engaging Campus Environment (CECE) assessment, which included undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty and staff. The purpose of this assessment was to understand how SNHU cultivates an inclusive, equitable, and supportive campus environment for the entire campus community. Through analyzing the data collected from the CECE survey, this assessment produces insights regarding students, faculty, and staff perceptions and experiences of SNHU's campus environments - both its physical campus, and the expanded campus available to students online.

"From a mission standpoint, we only deliver on our mission when we are willing to examine and reconstruct the aspects of the student experience which present barriers to diverse students and their success. There is evidence that learner outcomes improve when structural barriers to their success are removed, but also when they see themselves reflected in a university who serves them." This assessment aimed to analyze the components that made it difficult for the diversity of students' success. The results are being used in the shaping and pruning of programs and initiatives to fully capitalize on the students' success.
