A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:

A document about sustainability at John Abbott College is provided to all new employees in the school’s orientation information package (see attached document) which is available on our internal portal. In contains an introduction to John Abbott College’s commitment to sustainability and fighting climate change, as well as a statement about the importance of taking tangible actions that will support the well-being of youth at our school. The Sustainable Development Goals introduce the framework through which the school is addressing social, economic and environmental sustainability. It also refers to the benchmarking and measurement standards that the school uses at both the international (STARS) and provincial levels (Cégep Vert). Finally, it provides information about the structure of the Sustainability Committee and key contacts for new staff who wish to become involved in sustainability initiatives on campus.
