Criteria
Institution administers and/or participates in a program or programs to help build a diverse faculty throughout higher education.
Such programs could take any of the following forms:
- Teaching fellowships or other programs to support terminal degree students from underrepresented groups in gaining teaching experience. (The terminal degree students may be enrolled at another institution).
- Mentoring, financial, and/or other support programs to prepare and encourage undergraduate or other non-terminal degree students to pursue further education and careers as faculty members.
- Mentoring, financial, and/or other support programs for doctoral and post-doctoral students from underrepresented groups.
Applicability
This credit applies to all institutions.
Scoring
Institutions earn 4 points for this credit by administering or participating in a program that meets the criteria outlined above. Partial points are not available for this credit.
