The University of St. Thomas is designated as a Voter Friendly Campus and initially achieved platinum status with the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge following the 2020 Elections and are awaiting results from NSLVE for the 2022 midterm elections. Campus initiatives around voter education and support that have contributed to this recognition include a variety of voter engagement activities, including routine and special event–related on-campus voter registration, resources for voter engagement promoted via the university website and official administrative communication, a social media campaign for #TommiesVote, on- and off-campus canvassing outreach, and the hiring of Campus Election Engagement Project fellows and Voter Ambassadors to coordinate efforts. These efforts were formalized and institutionalized in 2019 with the creation of the campus-wide Civic Engagement, Voter Education and Advocacy (CEVEA) taskforce.
