The Foundation has a formal investment committee with an Investment Policy Statement "IPS" that governs the investment of the Foundation's assets. This IPS includes a statement regarding Social Responsibility that specifies the investment of assets must take into account relevant environmental, social and governance considerations in the portfolio investment and construction activities that are the subject of the IPS. The Foundation's endowment portfolio investments are managed by an external firm, Jasper Ridge Partners "JRP". JRP has its own ESG Committee which governs the investment approach related to social and environmental concerns.

Members of the CIR, including affiliations and role:

The Foundation's Investment Committee of the Foundation includes members of the UO Foundation Board of Trustees as well as the University of Oregon's Senior VP of Finance and Administration/CFO as an ex-officio member of the Investment Committee.

Examples of CIR actions during the previous three years:

In 2014, the Foundation was the first Pac-12 institution to establish a policy specific to fossil fuel extraction, and we have committed to making no new direct investments in fossil fuel extraction. Currently, less than 5% of the Foundation’s direct holdings are invested in fossil fuel extraction and all remaining direct investments will expire by 2027.

When the Foundation outsourced the management of its investment portfolio to Jasper Ridge Partners "JRP", the Foundation placed the ESG policy on its public facing website.
