The fundamental basis for establishing a low carbon campus is transitioning the district heating network from a mix of steam and medium temperature hot water (MTW) to low temperature hot water (LTW) and moving to 100% renewable sources for electricity, while a shift to all renewable electricity and energy efficiency measures are essential to reaching the campus’ target.

In November 2022, SUNY Oneonta joined the University Global Coalition (UGC). UGC Mission: A collaborative platform of globally engaged universities and higher education associations working in partnership with the UN and other stakeholders to create a more sustainable future for all.
