The college administers on a regular cycle engagement and satisfactions surveys to the students and faculty and is in the process of developing a cycle for staff. Barnard College partnered with the National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climate (NACCC) led by USC's Race & Equity Center.

In Fall 2020 the college collected information about students’ experiences on campus through the NACCC Climate Survey. It looked at experiences in and out of the classrooms, their interactions with the faculty and advisors, their feelings of belongings, as well as their perception of the administration responsiveness. The data was and will continue to be used to inform programming and strengthen the current resources available to students, and will continue to be communicated to the community. The new Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are being instrumental in shaping how the College is structuring its work in those areas.

In Summer 2022, the College administered a staff climate survey, through the NACCC, and are awaiting the analysis of the results to be shared this spring.

The staff survey executive summary is currently being produced by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and will be posted for the community by the end of Spring 2023.

Following the student summary was a townhall conversation with students and faculty. This gave more insight on the experiences. The Center for Engaged Pedagogy then connected with students to put together a resource on centering/burdening. The CEP also works with faculty on anti-racist pedagogy. There is also a student advisory board to the CEP. Here is a list resources the CEP put together: https://cep.barnard.edu/equity-and-accessibility-resources. On the programming side, the DEI office often supports student requests that are voiced to the Equity Committee of SGA. Some examples: Ramadan iftars, Lunar New Year, Black Liberation Seder.
