Major Renovation and new construction projects: Comply with City of Los Angeles Green Building Code (LAGBC) requirements for C&D waste management.
New Construction projects: 2 projects complied with C&D waste management
1. GINSBERG HUMAN-CENTERED COMPUTATIONAL HALL (GCS), (formerly called New Viterbi Computer Science Building) 6-story building with a basement, 98,000 GSF. including: classrooms, research labs, admin offices, auditorium, PHD students functions and auxiliary support functions; LEED v4NC_ZNE version, targeted for Platinum rating; Construction is to be completed in the fall of 2024.
2. Pasadena Medical Office Building (PMOB), 4-story building (99,996 GSF) w/ 3-level U/G parking (114,000 GSF); mainly are medical offices with auxiliary support functions; LEED v4NC, will achieve LEED Gold and potentially LEED Platinum rating; targeted for Gold or Platinum rating; Construction is to be completed in May 2024.
Major Renovation and Addition projects: 2 projects complied with City of Los Angeles Green Building Code (LAGBC) requirements for C&D waste management requirements.
1. Dramatic Arts Adaptive Reuse (UUC): Adaptive reuse of United University Church (UUC) building, a registered historical building, to house the school of Dramatic Arts; the work includes a full building system remodel and addition with the seismic upgrade. The building will house teaching and performance spaces along with offices and auxiliary support functions. 5-story building with a basement, 36,418GSF. LEED v4MR, will achieve LEED Gold and potentially LEED Platinum rating; Construction is to be completed in February 2024.
2. HC4-3rd Floor Suite 3500 Radiology Department Remodel: Office renovation, 1,782 GSF
USC has developed and published USC Sustainable Design & Construction Guidelines (SDCG) on 07/01/22 that is applicable to all projects using an updated SDCG Strategy Checklist dated 09/21/23. The staffs are required undergoing SDCG training workshops and sessions are uploaded in TrojanLearn, a self-guided training tool.
More information on contractor requirements can be found in the "Additional documentation to support the submission" field. This document will be reviewed and updated to open the work to more qualified contractors.
