Natural Resources Management (Conservation Science Concentration)

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:

The Conservation Science concentration is designed to provide a broader array of course options, where the focus is understanding the science and policy elements of the interdependent relationships between humans and the environment. Graduates from this concentration frequently work in environmental consulting, federal and state agencies, and often focus their work on threatened and endangered species and ecosystems, as well as invasive species, and ecosystem restoration.

Renewable Energy

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (2nd program):

The Bachelor of Science in Renewable Energy offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, prepares students for a career in many segments of the
industry by offering courses on multiple aspects of the industry, from education on the characteristics of renewable resources to instruction on project
development and management. The versatile multidisciplinary nature of the degree plan makes Texas Tech's renewable energy program unique.

Geography and the Environment, B.A.

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (3rd program):

The Geography Program provides students with critical thinking skills, specific geographic expertise, and the research experience needed to meet real
world challenges. While maps are at the heart of any geographic analysis; geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing and global positioning
have revolutionized the field of geography, environmental science and the study of human-environment interaction. The Geography Program offer
students the education, technical skills and hands-on-experience needed to address many of the problems facing our modern society.

Renewable Energy Minor

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration:

This minor consists of 18 hours of undergraduate wind energy courses. A minimum of 9 hours of RE coursework must be taken at the 3000 level or above. All courses must be approved by a renewable energy advisor, and a grade of C or better achieved in each course. Renewable energy is a multidisciplinary field, and some concepts will require a background in calculus and physics.

Renewable Energy Undergraduate Concentration

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (2nd program):

Students interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies, a Bachelor of Science in University Studies, or a Bachelor of General Studies with an area of concentration in renewable energy must complete all of the degree requirements for the chosen degree. An area of concentration in renewable energy includes a minimum of 18 hours of wind energy coursework. A minimum of 9 hours of RE coursework must be taken at the 3000 level or above.

Sustainability Minor

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (3rd program):

Sustainability is an emerging cornerstone of the global economy, infrastructure, and culture. This transdisciplinary minor is designed for students majoring in any discipline at TTU to empower them with state-of-the-art, crosscutting tools. Students can choose to complete 18 hours in one of three areas: Sustainable Agriculture & Natural Resources, Sustainable Energy & Engineering, Sustainability in Art, Architecture & Society or students can work with an advisor to design their own coursework from the three content areas.

The minor in Sustainability is a cross-college, interdisciplinary minor designed in collaboration with multiple colleges across TTU. The minor offers a wide
range of suitable courses and advisors from collaborating units. The Sustainability Minor is housed in the Davis College. A minimum of 18 hours is
required for this minor. Students must have a minimum 2.75 Texas Tech University GPA to complete the minor. Transfer students without Texas Tech
University coursework must have a minimum 2.75 transfer GPA. No more than 6 credit hours from a student’s respective major can count toward this
minor. Unless approved by the course instructor, course prerequisites must be met prior to taking each course. A student must earn a grade of C or
greater in each course counted toward this minor. Unless approved by an advisor, courses must be completed at Texas Tech University
