Title and a brief description of the institution’s free, online sustainability course:

The name of the course is Sustainable Business Fundamentals. This course provides the knowledge and know-how for driving business performance through a focus on sustainability.

Building on a foundational understanding of sustainability and how it impacts business performance, students learn proven strategies to address growing demands for enhanced environmental and social governance, while simultaneously improving business performance. Students also learn how to apply global best practices on sustainability and develop a customized strategy based on stakeholder and materiality assessments.

This course is delivered online 3 hours per week for a total of six weeks. It includes scheduled class time and independent learning. It is designed for graduates and working professionals, who wish to build their knowledge in sustainable business management to accelerate their careers.

At the end of the course, students receive a microcredential in the form of a digital badge which identifies the institution that issued it, along with the competency, evidence and criteria that was required to earn it.

This free course is part of a training initiative to provide workers with new skills needed to support a clean economy. It is fully funded by Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery (C2R2) and the Government of Canada.
