A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
The University of Minnesota Crookston campus covers 128 acres. The northern most part of the campus is occupied by the University Teaching and Outreach Center that serves as the center for animal science on campus. Office and classroom spaces are located here in addition to a riding arena, stables, and a tack room for the Equine Science program. Waste distribution and equipment staging is also located here. Academic teaching facilities, laboratories, residential halls, fitness and gym facilities, libraries, and other core services are located in the center section of campus. Recreational fields are the predominant land use to the south.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school Yes Yes
Medical school No No
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) Yes Yes
Museum No No
Satellite campus No No
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Hospital No No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
The property surrounding the Univerisity campus is assigned to the Northwest Research and Outreach Center (NWROC). NWROC is associated with the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences of the Twin Cities Campus. The land is not maintained by UMN Crookston staff. NWROC research and staff would be accounted for through the Twin Cities' STARS report. In some cases, parts of the NWROC land and facilities will be included de facto and will be noted, if possible. For example, one of the NWROC buildings receives steam from the UMN Crookston heating plant. There is also a small piece of land and building owned by the the City that houses the Northwest Regional Extension Office. This will also not be included in the STARS report following similar logic to the exclusion of NWROC.The boundary does not include leased land or facilities.
