Does the institution collaborate with other colleges and universities to support and help build the campus sustainability community?:
A brief summary of papers, guides, presentations, and other resources the institution has developed to share their sustainability experience with other institutions:
Presentation and discussion of campus sustainability initiatives takes place several times each year through the Sustainability Committee of the Southwest Ohio Council on Higher Education. This committee brings together representatives of several institutions in our region to discuss sustainability initiatives and collaborate where possible.
Other contributions include:
• As a member of the Association of Marianist Universities, UD’s Hanley Sustainability Institute Scholar-in-Residence is the featured speaker in the 2016 Marianist speaker series. Visiting three universities, the speaker explored themes in the ecological encyclical through the lens of Marianist charism and the challenges and opportunities it presents at Marianist Universities, university eco-regions, and ministries. The speaker also engaged with faculty, staff and students at each of the institutions to share what UD is doing, learn from what each of them are doing and explore ways the universities can connect, network and support each other in growth in sustainability.
• UD and Xavier meet formally once per year to share initiatives and best practices in areas of Facilities Management and Sustainability.
• UD Sustainability Manager participates in a peer group comprised of sustainability professionals at other Ohio campuses that meets to discuss current initiatives and ways to collaborate, as well as professional development opportunities.

• The student Sustainability Club collaborating with Wright State students to discuss divestment strategies for WSU.
• UD’s Mechanical Engineering department collaborates with nearby Antioch College to tour Antioch’s geothermal facilities to demonstrate their integration in a campus’s sustainability design.
