A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:

Performance year for this credit: FY23. Construction projects are required by contract to use construction and demolition (C&D) recycling. The City of Seattle requires a salvage assessment and waste diversion report for demolition projects and new construction and remodeling projects that are $75,000 in value or more. http://www.seattle.gov/Util/Engineering/Consulting_Resources/CDWasteManagement/RecyclingRequirements/index.htm Construction and Demolition numbers are low for Seattle University because most of this is handled by construction contractors. Waste collected from remodeling or light C&D work conducted by Facilities staff is sorted at a construction debris recycling facility and picked up by our local hauler "Recology" which then sends it to different vendors and processors for repurposing/recycling.
