A brief description of how multiple stakeholder groups were involved in developing the plan:

The Sustainability Action Plan was developed by the Sustainability Task Force. The task force included representation from faculty, staff, and students. There was representation from all of the relevant campus departments including facilities, management services, information technology, auxiliary services, and others.


A brief description of the plan’s measurable goals :

The plan includes specific greenhouse gas reduction goals including the goal of reducing emissions 25% below 2007 levels by 2021. The plan also includes goals for auxiliary services, facilities management, information technology, purchasing, transportation, waste management, and curriculum development.


A brief description of how progress in meeting the plan’s goals is measured:

The goals are incorporated into the Finance and Administration divisional operating plan and are evaluated on an annual basis. Updates are provided to the Sustainability Task Force and campus administration. The goals are also being measured by participating in the STARS program.
