A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups within the student body:
Muhlenberg College has mentoring, counseling, peer support, affinity groups, academic support programs, or other programs in place to support under-represented groups on campus.

Muhlenberg College has student organizations on campus such as BSA (Black Students Association), Comunidad Latina, SQuAD (Students for Queer Advocacy), ISA, Feminist Collective, Gospel Choir and Theta Nu Xi. These organizations celebrate and share heritage months as well as tackling issues such as homophobia and racism and bringing awareness of these issues on campus.

The Academic Resource center provides many avenues of support for under-represented populations of students, including students-of-color. We have Peer Tutors who tutor students in small groups or individually. Additionally, Muhlenberg College offers workshops each year in high-risk, gateway classes, and we provide First-Year Transition Workshops for incoming students. The three main workshops available to students are : Time Management/Organization, Memory/Test Preparation, and Textbook Reading/Notetaking.

In addition, there is a diversity mentor program available through the Multicultural Center. This program is a specific mentor program for any student that is considered a student of diversity at Muhlenberg College. If they want, they may have a mentor provided for them who would help them transmission into life at Muhlenberg.

All Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC) programs are open to faculty, students, and staff on campus. These programs work with the LVAIC consortium which consists of Cedar Crest, Lehigh, DeSales, Moravian, Lafayette, and Muhlenberg. These programs offer an avenue for faculty and staff to further their education in specific to women’s studies as well as multicultural affairs programs.
