An Open Access policy was adopted by Library faculty in Spring 2021, as evident in Attachment 8 (p. 39) of this document: https://library.appstate.edu/sites/default/files/library_faculty_guidelines_2021_04_28.pdf

Does the institution provide open access journal hosting services through which peer-reviewed open access journals are hosted on local servers with dedicated staff who provide publishing support at no (or minimal) cost?:
Yes

A brief description of the open access journal hosting services:

Interest in publishing open access journals is limited at Appalachian. To date, we have three journals that are hosted by the University. The open access journal hosting services are hosted through the main campus' central IT service unit. The service provided includes building and hosting a website. Publishing support is provided by the Office of Scholarly Communications and includes consultative services on copyright, publishing agreements, and logistics. The library is investigating the possibility of purchasing a publishing platform to better support journal publication once the demand grows sufficiently to justify the cost. The URL for Scholarly Communications is: https://library.appstate.edu/digital-scholarship-initiatives/scholarly-communications-and-publishing
