A brief description of all other student peer-to-peer sustainability outreach and education programs:
The Sustainability Activation Program aims to educate University of Dayton campus and beyond about the importance of living sustainably. This program is focused on the three pillars of sustainability: environment, economy, society. By educating students about current sustainability-related issues and why they are happening, we are trying to foster an interest to conserve our natural resources. This program then helps students discover ways they can conserve resources in their daily life and make a commitment to be more sustainable. This program has two main branches: Flyers Go Green in-person AVIATE presentations events and virtual Consciosu Living Chats. The fall 2021 AVIATE events, facilitated by 21 SAPlings (sustainabilty volunteers), were open to all students and hosted approximately 1,600 students, with between 2 and 6 events offered each week. These events focused on topics ranging from food to clothing to how student can get involved on campus today. The Conscious Living Chats will begin in January 2022; in these chats, SAPlings meet up with individual houses of students to dive deeper into sustainability and how the students can make their house more sustainable.
