100

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Ohio State’s Office of Institutional Research & Planning conducts a survey of faculty every three years. Survey results are made available to all administrative units within the university.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
Staff from Institutional Research and Planning collaborate with Human Resources leadership to present results to human resource professionals throughout the institution. Where comparisons with other units on campus show a particular department to be performing below average, Human Resources provides advice and support for improvement. IRP conducts follow up surveys in the off-cycle years to provide targeted information to determine whether strategies implemented are really working.

The results of these surveys are included in the review of all 106 academic departments, and are made available to external review teams, who provide insight to department chairs and college deans. Issues are addressed and resolved at the local level.
