A brief description of notable policies or programs to make the institution accessible and affordable to low-income students:
Bobcat Promise: To increase access to higher education, Texas State University offers the Bobcat Promise. This program guarantees free tuition and mandatory fees for 15 credit hours per semester to new entering freshmen with a family adjusted gross income that does not exceed $50,000. The amount awarded under this program is equal to the tuition and fees reflected in the Texas resident cost of attendance, and any award or combination of awards cannot exceed one's demonstrated need.

A brief description of notable policies or programs to support non-traditional students:
Non-Traditional Student Organization: Supports Non-Traditional Students by connecting them to resources to ease the college experience. NTSO provides scholarships and community to members, as well as communal areas, computer labs, and a kitchenette.

Transfer Center: Supports TXST Transfer Students with peer mentorship programs, transfer navigation, and workshops.

Office of Veterans Affairs: The Texas State University Office of Veterans Affairs assists veterans and dependents by answering questions concerning veteran educational benefits, certifying enrollments for the Department of Veterans Affairs, processing the Hazelwood benefit, and monitoring our students’ degree plans and academic progress as required for their benefits.
