The Diversity and Equity Office mission is to “foster conversation, exposure and engagement with all people, thoughts and ideas — from all corners of the world.” There is listed 10 point plan on the university website, known as the “Actions to Advance Racial Justice” that focus on curriculum review, bias reporting, student training, faculty and staff training, data access, affinity groups, pipeline, indigenous recognition, DCGE support, and civic engagement.

For faculty and staff, the training is described as “new mandatory training modules were developed and implemented to move beyond anti-bias and toward behaviors that create and sustain a welcoming community.”

For students, the mandatory online training is designed to “explore the roots of racism and actions to counter discrimination in society and in our own behaviors."
