An assessment was done, focusing on one residence hall, Kenefick Hall in the spring of 2016. The building was chosen because there were improvements to be made in the energy consumption in that building. The data for this building were compared to survey results across campus.

This composite score on a 0-100 scale measures several dimensions of students’ and employees’ sustainability
engagement:

• Participation in sustainability behaviors (peers)

A survey was sent out to all students and employees across campus.

Overall, faculty, staff, and students had an average "Sustainability Engagement Score" of 59. This is an average of the 5 dimensions measured: Familiarity, Awareness, Knowledge, Participation (self) and Participation (peers). Scores were highest in the Familiarity category and lowest in the Participation (peers) and Awareness catergories.
