OLLI at Coastal Carolina University offers a wide range of courses in the fall, spring and summer. We also sponsor clubs (e.g., bridge club, book club, gardening club), offer excursions (e.g., a ‘Spy Tour’ to Washington, DC), and volunteer opportunities. We also are the sponsor or co-sponsor of events and lecture series on the campus of the University (e.g., the Latin American Film Series, Fall 2021).

Sustainability inclusive course:
How Do You Get Your Electricity?
This course will cover the fundamentals of how the electricity grid operates. Students will learn how generators, transmission, distribution, and consumers play a role in the grid. This course will also cover voltage, current, and power at a conceptual level. At the end of this course, students will understand how electricity is generated, how it gets to your house, and why there are blackouts.
