ITS and Housekeeping disposes of e-waste through the various reputable avenues available at each campus. Hard drives and privacy data are removed before items are recycled.

Manhattan campuses recycle through Curb Recycling, a program that offers efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly ways to recycle e-waste. At Einstein's other campuses, Computers and their accessories are collected and recycled or refurbished through Dell's give back program. Cell phones and rechargeable batteries that are less than 11 pounds are separately bagged and shipped to Call2recycle. At Call2recycle, precious metals are recovered from used batteries to create new batteries and stainless steel products. Cell phones are recycled, refurbished and/or resold.
