A brief description of the institution's indoor air quality plan, policy, and/or practices:
YU prohibits smoking on campus and signage is prominent and conspicuously posted in accordance with the Smoke-Free Air Act. We perform routine maintenance on all heating, ventilation, and A/C systems. Monthly checks of all air handlers are maintained in the MicroMain system. These checks are documented electronically for labor hours, equipment condition, and work completed. In additional to monthly checks, annual shutdown are scheduled for 3 lab buildings. Lab and facility workers are trained on proper storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and we encourage the use of available alternatives to toxic substances. We are committed to managing hazardous waste in a safe manner.
