Yes, Yale's Affinity Groups are open to all staff and faculty members. Each of the eight groups support recruitment, retention, education, advocacy and community building. As a a part of their programming, Affinity Groups coordinate opportunities to volunteer in the local community and encourage broad employee education. Each Affinity Group advertises volunteer days and events on their webpage but do not currently track hours contributed.

Many staff do volunteer with the Yale Alumni Association during the Yale Day of Service. In 2019, 160 staff contributed 560 hours.
