Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Yale Sustainability Messaging Guide
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The Yale Sustainability Messaging Guide was developed as a resource for campus communication professionals outside of the Office of Sustainability. While the Office has had standard communications materials since it started, the Messaging Guide goes above and beyond and has a much more significant scope than anything we've done before. It contains messaging themes that demonstrate alignment between Yale’s communications priorities and Yale’s sustainability themes. Communications professionals are encouraged to use the guide as a frame of reference when communicating about their initiatives that connect to sustainability. The guide was created by a committee of communications professionals convened by the Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications with support from the Office of Sustainability. It has been distributed widely across the University.
