A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
The Yale Office of Sustainability attends a tabling event for new students at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (FES) and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. The Office of Sustainability provides a brief presentation during new student orientation at the Yale Law School, Yale School of Nursing, and the Yale School of Architecture. The Yale Divinity School and Yale FES organize and deliver sustainability orientation programming. The Yale School of Music shows an orientation video about sustainability to new students.
In addition, the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies (F&ES) provides an introduction to sustainability through their orientation program. 100% of entering F&ES students are provided an opportunity to participate in orientation activities and programming that prominently include sustainability. The orientation includes a discussion of how to host sustainable events, a discussion of stewardship in the community, and tours of and education about how to operate their LEED Platinum energy efficient building.
