A brief description of the certificate program(s), including the year the program was created:
1. "WPI’s Renewable and Distributed Power Systems Certificate was introduced in the 2016 Academic Year. This program provides students with general power systems analysis and design capabilities and specific capabilities for electric delivery systems that support renewable and distributed power generation. 2. WPI's Water Resources graduate certificate program offers a comprehensive set of graduate-level courses in a specialized area of environmental engineering. A prior undergraduate degree in civil or environmental engineering or another related field is required. The program includes courses to address water as a critical natural resource, which is also under multiple complex threats. Topics range from methods of detecting and removing hazardous contaminants to addressing water sustainability locally and around the world.(https://www.wpi.edu/academics/study/water-resources-certificates) WPI's Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department also offers a Water Quality Systems Certificate, which focuses more on water and wastewater treatment systems. Finally, the CEE Department's Environmental Engineering Graduate MS Degree is offered entirely online. This program is described under CEE Graduate Programs
