A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
Medical services provided at the health center include treatment for illnesses and injuries, management of ongoing medical problems, and care and advice for any health concern. The medical staff includes physicians, 2 nurse practitioners, a physician assistant and registered nurses, all of whom have an interest in working with college students. Some of the more specific services we provide, such as immunization and travel counseling, allergy shots, nutritional services, HIV & STD Testing, psychological counseling, etc., are outlined in more detail on their website.

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential and voluntary counseling referral services free of charge to employees and members of their family household.
Wellness at Williams is a program designed to help motivate employees and their families to get and stay healthy. In addition, it can help to better manage health care costs for all employees.
Wellness at Williams is a series of health improvement initiatives intended to heighten the awareness of faculty and staff about the importance of healthy life choices and how they relate to healthcare premiums. The program is completely voluntary, totally confidential, and includes a direct financial incentive.
Any employee who is the subscriber in a Williams health insurance plan is eligible for the incentive. A subscriber is the person who carries the insurance on behalf of the family.
The wellness program encourages habits of wellness, increase awareness of factors and resources contributing to well-being, inspire and empower individuals to take responsibility for their own health, and to support a sense of community through education and initiatives that support employees in making healthy choices with their work and home lives.

COVID-19 Health Policies
The College has provided substantial and continuous health and economic/financial support for faculty, staff and students throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. From initial lockdown to returning to campus in the fall of 2020 with extensive health and safety protocols and flexible remote and COVID-19 work hour policies, the College has prioritized health, safety and economic/financial support for its community members. A website and COVID-19 case dashboard were set up to provide the community with timely and relevant information:

In addition, a weekly Operations Maintenance and Continuity message is shared with the community by the VP for Communications and President Mandel and/or the Provost and/or the Dean of Students also communicate as necessary with their respective constituencies.

The Williams College smoking policy prohibits the smoking of tobacco products and the use of electronic smoking devices (i) inside all college buildings and (ii) outside in all areas that are within 25 feet of any college building. The campus is thus not a fully smoke-free campus.
