Over the past few years, the Zilkha Center (ZC) has focused on a number of big projects in the built environment, energy, and engagement in particular.

The Zilkha Center was represented on the Sustainability Working Group during the college's strategic planning (2019-2020) and sustainability was one of two cross-cutting commitments and one of eight working groups. The Zilkha Center is now taking the lead on convening stakeholder groups to take the high level goals and turn them into actionable plans starting with the Climate Action Plan (CAP) and the Zero Waste Action Plan (ZWAP).

The Zilkha Center coordinated a partnership with four other liberal arts colleges to plan and purchase from a utility scale solar facility that will provide 80-90% of campus purchased electricity. The construction for the Farmington Solar Project finished and became operational this fall.
